Consumer Banking & Payroll Lending Officer

Role Description


This is a full-time on-site role for a Consumer Banking & Payroll Lending Officer, located in Abuja. The Consumer Banking & Payroll Lending Officer will be responsible for loan origination, underwriting, and providing exceptional customer service.


You responsibility include:


Drive acquisition of new customers for consumer banking and payroll lending products.
Build and manage strong relationships with employers, payroll partners, and individual clients.
Evaluate and process loan applications in line with credit policies.
Monitor loan performance, ensure timely repayments, and support recovery efforts.
Cross-sell other retail banking products (savings, current accounts, digital channels).
Provide financial advisory and ensure excellent customer service delivery.
Maintain compliance with banking policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
Prepare periodic reports on loan portfolio, customer acquisition, and performance.


Qualifications


Experience with Loan Origination and Underwriting processes
Excellent Relationship manageement skills
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work in an on-site role in Abuja
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related discipline.
2–4 years’ experience in retail/consumer banking, payroll lending, or credit operations.
Strong knowledge of loan products, credit analysis, and risk management.
Proven track record in sales, business development, and customer relationship management.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
High level of integrity and attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and core banking applications.
