 Job Title: Corporate Finance Manager

Location: Lagos

Job Schedule: Full time Role Overview

The Corporate Finance Manager will oversee corporate financial planning and treasury management functions, ensuring effective fund utilization, liquidity management, and risk mitigation. The role involves collaborating with financial partners, optimizing financial resources, and driving the company’s corporate finance strategy to support its growth objectives. A strong understanding of economics and its implications on financial decision-making is critical to this role.


Bank and Partner Activities:

Manage and maintain relationships with financial partners, including banks, finance houses, and cooperatives. Oversee bank and account operations, ensuring smooth financial transactions with partners. Evaluate and manage transaction costs with financial partners to optimize financial performance. Provide monthly rate guidance and investment advice. Update investment payout schedules and compute liquidity positions. Assess and establish monthly cost of funds to align with business objectives.

Asset, Liability, and Liquidity Management:

Plan and manage funds for disbursement and expense requirements across financial institutions. Oversee liquidity, exposure, and leverage management in partnership with banks. Handle excess liquidity investments and risk mitigation strategies. Develop collection schedules in collaboration with risk and portfolio management teams. Monitor FX liquidity exposure and set FX trigger points to mitigate currency devaluation risks. Define performance benchmarks for margins, reserves, cash, collections, and liquidity in alignment with executive directives. Analyze economic trends and assess their impact on liquidity, funding, and investment strategies.


Corporate Finance:

Originate deals for fund-raising efforts, working with banks, finance houses, and cooperatives. Prepare documentation to support deal origination and ensure regulatory compliance. Collaborate with the growth team on front-end deal origination when required. Leverage economic insights to structure and negotiate financing options effectively.


Treasury Management:

Manage liquidity to ensure the organization has sufficient funds to meet its operational needs. Develop strategies to optimize cash flows and minimize financial risks. Oversee interest rate risk and advise on appropriate mitigation strategies. Analyze and report on FX risks, providing solutions to reduce exposure. Apply economic principles to forecast market trends and identify opportunities for financial optimization.


Reporting and Compliance:

Prepare and deliver weekly financial reports to key stakeholders. Oversee financial reporting and bank reconciliation activities. Monitor and ensure compliance with established KPIs and financial parameters. Generate comprehensive reports and provide insights on mitigants for interest rate, liquidity, and FX risks. Incorporate economic data in financial reporting to support strategic decision-making.


Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field. A master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CFA, ACA, ACCA) is an advantage. Experience: 7–10 years of experience in corporate finance, treasury management, or a related field, preferably within the banking or financial services sector.


Skills:

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent relationship management and negotiation skills. Proficiency in financial modeling and reporting tools. In-depth understanding of financial regulations and risk management practices. A strong grasp of economic principles and their impact on financial markets and corporate finance activities.


Key Competencies:

Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to financial management. Exceptional communication skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders. High attention to detail with the ability to multitask and prioritize. Demonstrates a solid understanding of economic factors influencing financial decision-making and market dynamics.
