We are looking for a seasoned and meticulous Credit Manager with extensive experience in Risk Management to join our organization. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in overseeing the credit and lending process, ensuring regulatory compliance, and mitigating risks associated with mortgage lending operations. With a focus on strategic planning and operational excellence, the Credit Manager will enhance the bank's credit portfolio while maintaining a robust risk control framework.
Credit Risk Management
Evaluate, monitor, and manage credit risks across the mortgage portfolio to ensure alignment with the bank's risk appetite.
Create and implement credit risk policies and procedures tailored to mortgage banking operations.
Conduct comprehensive credit analysis for loan applications, ensuring thorough evaluation of borrowers' financial status, creditworthiness, and collateral adequacy.
Credit Approval Process
Supervise the end-to-end credit approval process, including the assessment and recommendation of mortgage loan applications.
Set credit limits for clients in line with regulatory standards and organizational policies.
Portfolio Management
Conduct regular reviews and analyses of the bank's mortgage loan portfolio to identify trends, risks, and areas for improvement.
Provide timely reports on credit portfolio performance and risk exposure to senior management.
Compliance and Regulatory Oversight
Guarantee full compliance with all regulatory requirements, including mortgage lending laws and guidelines.
Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory bodies to address any credit-related issues.
Leadership and Collaboration
Guide a team of credit officers, offering direction, mentorship, and performance evaluations.
Work closely with internal stakeholders, including Risk, Legal, and Operations teams, to optimize credit processes and maintain high standards of service delivery.
Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CFA, FRM, or PRM) is preferred.
10–15 years of demonstrated experience in credit management and risk management, with a focus on mortgage banking or related financial services.
In-depth understanding of mortgage lending processes, housing finance, and regulatory frameworks governing the mortgage banking industry.
Expertise in financial modeling, credit analysis tools, and risk assessment software.
Outstanding analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities. Excellent communication and leadership skills.
