We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: English Language / Lit-in-English Teacher
Location: Ibadan, Oyo
Employment Type: Full-time
Key Responsibilities
Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the national curriculum (e.g. WAEC/NECO/JAMB English Language syllabus).
Teach components such as grammar, essay writing, comprehension, oral English, and summary skills.
Design, administer, and mark classwork, tests, assignments, and mock exams.
Provide timely, constructive feedback to students to guide improvement.
Encourage fluent communication through structured speaking and listening activities.
Foster vocabulary development, reading comprehension, and writing accuracy.
Provide academic mentoring and encourage students to develop confidence in using English.
Promote reading culture and communication skills through debates, public speaking, or drama.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in English, English Education, Linguistics, or a related field (B.A. with PGDE/B.Ed.).
TRCN certification (preferred or in progress).
Minimum of 5 years teaching experience in a senior secondary school.
Experience in preparing students for WAEC, NECO, and UTME exams.
Key Skills:Strong command of English (written and spoken).
In-depth knowledge of English grammar, composition, and literature.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Creativity in lesson planning and teaching delivery.
Classroom management and student engagement techniques.
Ability to inspire a love for the English language and literature.
