Job Summary
The Field Officer will be tasked with managing on-site activities, ensuring project goals are achieved in the field, and serving as the main point of contact between the project team and local communities. This role is crucial in guaranteeing efficient project execution, tackling local issues, and building robust relationships with stakeholders at both community and health levels.
Key Duties:
Project Execution
Manage the implementation and launch of the digital technology initiative in designated regions, ensuring all activities align with project objectives and schedules.
Coordinate the deployment of the mobile application and USSD platform, ensuring users can effectively understand and access the tools.
Plan and execute community awareness sessions to educate about the project and highlight the advantages of utilizing the digital tools.
User Assistance and Education
Deliver on-site support to users, including instruction on the usage of the mobile app and USSD platform.
Resolve user inquiries, troubleshoot technical problems, and offer immediate assistance to ensure seamless operation of the digital tools.
Collect user feedback to identify common issues and collaborate with the technical team to implement resolutions.
Community Involvement
Function as the primary intermediary between the project team and the community, ensuring transparent communication and cultivating trust.
Establish and maintain strong connections with community leaders, local organizations, and other stakeholders to encourage participation and backing for the project.
Interact with community members to comprehend their needs and preferences regarding digital technology and incorporate their input into project activities.
Observation and Documentation
Furnish regular updates to the project management team on field activities, user feedback, and any obstacles encountered.
Contribute to the preparation of comprehensive field reports, including analysis of collected data and suggestions for enhancement.
Operational Support
Manage logistics for field activities, including material distribution, organizing training sessions, and scheduling field visits.
Ensure efficient resource utilization and maintain precise records of distributed materials and conducted activities.
Quality Control
Verify that all project activities, including training sessions and app deployment, adhere to the organization's quality benchmarks.
Recognize and address any issues that may impact the quality or success of the project, collaborating proactively with the project team to develop solutions.
Regulatory Adherence and Safety
Ensure all field activities comply with organizational policies, local regulations, and data privacy standards.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in public health, Nursing, Community Health, Social Sciences, or a related discipline.
At least 2 years of relevant experience in fieldwork, community engagement, training, and implementing projects involving digital technology
Robust technical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot issues and provide user support.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to engage effectively with diverse communities.
Capability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and adapt to changing circumstances.
Familiarity with data privacy standards and best practices.
Fluency in English and proficiency in local languages is beneficial.
Must be a resident of Ogbia or Nembe LGA in Bayelsa State.
