Job Title: Legal Assistant

The Legal Assistant will provide legal and administrative support to the Legal Department by preparing legal documents, conducting legal research, maintaining legal records, facilitating property documentation, and ensuring compliance with relevant real estate laws and regulations.
Assist in drafting, reviewing, and proofreading legal documents, including contracts, leases, deeds, tenancy agreements, memoranda, and other property-related agreements. Conduct legal research on real estate, corporate, and regulatory matters. Support the preparation and processing of land documentation, title perfection, property registration, Governor's Consent, and other statutory approvals. Liaise with government agencies, regulatory bodies, courts, and external solicitors on legal matters. Maintain and organize legal files, property records, contracts, and litigation documents. Monitor the status of legal cases and property documentation to ensure timely follow-up. Assist in ensuring the company's compliance with applicable real estate laws, company policies, and regulatory requirements. Prepare legal reports, correspondence, and meeting minutes. Coordinate execution and safe custody of legal agreements. Support dispute resolution processes and litigation management where required. Perform other legal and administrative duties as assigned by the Head of Legal.
Bachelor's Degree (LL.B) in Law. 2–4 years of post-qualification experience as a Legal Assistant, Legal Officer, or similar role, preferably within the real estate industry. Strong knowledge of Nigerian property law, land documentation processes, and corporate legal practice. Excellent legal drafting, analytical, and research skills. Strong organizational and document management abilities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Call to the Nigerian Bar (BL). Experience handling title perfection, land registration, property acquisitions, and real estate transactions. Familiarity with CAC compliance and corporate governance requirements.
