 Job Title: Mechanical Technician I

Location: Akwa Ibom Job Description

We are seeking a Mechanical Technician I to join our team and support the safe and efficient execution of mechanical maintenance activities. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of a maintenance supervisor and be responsible for executing assigned maintenance work in accordance with approved procedures, safety requirements, and work plans.


Key Responsibilities

Execute assigned mechanical maintenance activities safely and efficiently. Actively participate in all applicable on-the-job safety tools and processes. Review job packs and ensure a clear understanding of work requirements before commencing tasks. Identify safety hazards associated with assigned jobs and ensure appropriate controls are implemented before work begins. Execute maintenance activities in accordance with approved work plans, procedures, and specifications. Record technical history and maintenance information in applicable systems, including the Global Reliability Tool (GRT) and relevant data sheets. Provide feedback to the Execution FLS/Supervisor on opportunities to improve job packs and maintenance execution. Request required work permits and promptly notify the Supervisor where permits cannot be issued within the required timeframe. Maintain effective communication with supervisors and other members of the maintenance team throughout job execution. Support a strong safety culture and contribute to the reliable operation of mechanical equipment.


Requirements

Discipline-appropriate mechanical certification(s), where applicable, or equivalent professional experience. Practical experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably within an oil & gas, energy, industrial, or related environment. Good understanding of workplace safety and maintenance procedures. Ability to identify field conditions and clearly communicate recommended corrective actions. Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams. Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and changing priorities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe work practices.
