The Credit Portfolio Analyst will be responsible for the oversight, monitoring, analysis, and reporting of the Bank’s credit portfolio across all business segments, including Treasury & Trade Solutions, Investment Banking, Markets, and Group Treasury. As a key member of the RMB Nigeria Credit team, the role ensures that credit exposures remain within approved risk appetite, regulatory requirements, and internal policies through proactive portfolio management, risk identification, and timely escalation of emerging concerns. The successful candidate will deliver accurate and insightful portfolio reporting, monitor portfolio quality and concentration risks, support portfolio optimization and risk-adjusted returns, and work closely with Coverage, Transactors, Risk, Finance, Legal, Compliance, and other internal and external stakeholders to maintain strong credit governance, enhance portfolio analytics, improve reporting processes, and safeguard the overall quality and performance of the Bank’s lending portfolio.


Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Assist in tracking and monitoring key parameters for the Credit Risk Appetite Framework, including portfolio and counterparty limits. Support the management of the portfolio stress testing process by conducting stress and scenario analysis of portfolio on a quarterly basis, as well as taking a leading role in the Credit Risk component of the annual ICAAP workflow. Support computation and reporting in respect of Credit Risk capital in accordance with Basel requirements, as well as monitoring compliance with other relevant frameworks and regulatory guidance. Assist in preparing and presenting management committee, Board committee and regulatory reports / MIS for the Credit function correctly and in a timely manner. Daily monitoring of exposures at a client level and across various product pillars in conjunction with Credit Analysts. Keeping track of all breaches noted on transactions. Escalating breaches to the appropriate sanctioning authority and proposing relevant corrective actions. Expected Credit Loss -  Management of the Bank’s ECL model to ensure compliance with IFRS 9 and relevant prudential requirements and including reporting and advising stakeholders; review past or anticipated changes in provisions. Ensuring that compliance objectives are met, which include audit and regulatory inspection outcomes as per annually defined targets. Work with internal and external auditors, as well as regulatory examiners, in review processes and address all issues. Ensure that all data processed and reported to the Board is in accordance with the principles of BCBS 239. Create and maintain automated processes that gather relevant data, ensure data accuracy, aggregate results, generate reports, and distribute results to relevant parties Support the development, maintenance, and automation of statistical models that quantify/simulate various aspects of the portfolio, including profile of Gross Advances, Expected Credit Loss, Expected size of Non-performing/Write-Off portfolios, Credit Loss Ratios, and other defined parameters at any point in time. Support periodic portfolio deep dives for industries/products/portfolios to test for macro shocks/emerging risks.

Key Deliverables

Credit portfolio monitoring (endogenous/exogenous risks impacting the portfolio explained and remediation suggested). All periodic reporting (monthly, quarterly, annual) completed on time & circulated to the relevant stakeholders. Provisions and Credit Capital calculated & flagged to all stakeholders proactively. Forecasts and estimates back-tested to ensure accuracy and stability. Improve quality of credit risk data to support decisions.

Client-facing Teams. Credit Department: Information sourcing/sharing, Transfer of skills (development). Risk & Compliance: Regulatory and Compliance oversight, reporting (including Operational and Climate Risk). Finance: Information sourcing/sharing. Legal Department: Legal services & advice. Head of Credit: Credit appetite setting, governance oversight, policy management & review. Internal Audit: Information provision for audit assurance exercises on credit policies & frameworks and the identification of potential risks (impact & scope). Experience & Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum qualification of Second-Class Upper division or equivalent. A relevant professional qualification within the accounting, finance, or risk management fields is desirable. At least 3 - 4 years’ experience in a relevant field.

Highly responsible, dedicated, and able to self-motivate and motivate team members. Ability to work within and transfer knowledge to the rest of the team as necessary.
