Job Title: Account Officer
Location: Ikeja, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time Job Summary
The Account Officer is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing financial transactions, monitoring accounts, and supporting the organisation’s day to day accounting and financial operations.
Record and maintain accurate financial transactions and accounting records. Prepare invoices, receipts, payment vouchers and other financial documents. Monitor accounts receivable and payable and follow up on outstanding payments. Reconcile bank statements, cash records and other financial accounts. Assist with payroll preparation and other financial reports. Process payments and ensure proper documentation and approval of expenses. Monitor daily cash flow and maintain accurate cash records. Prepare periodic financial reports and assist with budget monitoring. Maintain organised records of financial documents for audit and compliance purposes. Liaise with vendors, customers, banks and other stakeholders on financial matters. Ensure financial transactions comply with company policies and applicable regulations. Support the Finance Manager or Accountant with other accounting duties as required.
Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field. 1 to 3 years of relevant accounting or finance experience. Good knowledge of accounting principles and financial procedures. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software. Strong numerical, analytical and organisational skills. High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with financial information. Professional accounting certification such as ICAN, ACCA or equivalent is an advantage.
