We are seeking a skilled and professional Accountant to join our organisation in Benin City, Nigeria. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with local regulations. Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries Prepare and analyse monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements Reconcile bank statements and resolve any discrepancies Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting Participate in budgeting and forecasting processes Ensure compliance with Nigerian tax laws and financial reporting requirements Conduct regular internal audits to identify and address any financial discrepancies Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support decision-making Maintain accurate records and documentation for all financial transactions

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA) preferred 3-5 years of experience in accounting or a related field Proficiency in accounting software  Advanced Excel skills and strong mathematical aptitude In-depth knowledge of financial reporting standards (IFRS) Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities Effective time management and organisational skills Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities Thorough understanding of Nigerian tax laws and local financial reporting requirements Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards Closeness to school is an added advantage.
