We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Farmers’ Technical Consultant (FTC)
Locations: Abuja (FCT), Delta, Enugu, Kano, Nasarawa, Ogun and Plateau
Employment Type: Contract
Purpose
Provide technical support to Mother Units, Enterprise Advisors (EAs), and poultry farmers to improve productivity, ensure adoption of best management practices, strengthen biosecurity, and enhance the profitability and sustainability of poultry enterprises.
Key ResponsibilitiesProvide regular technical advisory and farm support to assigned farmers and Mother Units.
Train and mentor farmers and Enterprise Advisors on poultry production, health, biosecurity, and farm management.
Monitor bird performance, identify technical challenges, and recommend appropriate solutions.
Support disease prevention, vaccination programmes, and prompt reporting of disease outbreaks.
Conduct routine farm visits and ensure compliance with technical standards and SOPs.
Collect production data and submit timely field reports.
Liaise with veterinarians, extension agents, input suppliers, and other stakeholders to support effective project implementation.
RequirementsPossess a Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Animal Science, Animal Production, Veterinary Medicine, Veterinary Technology, Agricultural Extension, or a related field, with at least three (3) years of practical poultry production or livestock extension experience.
Sound knowledge of poultry production and biosecurity.
Strong training, communication, and advisory skills.
Ability to analyse farm performance and solve technical problems.
Good report writing and digital data collection skills.
Willingness to travel extensively within assigned project locations.
