The Food Technologist is responsible for monitoring and maintaining the quality, safety, and processing standards of parboiled rice throughout production. The role involves conducting quality tests, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations, identifying processing issues, and recommending improvements to maintain consistent product quality.

Monitor the parboiling, drying, milling, and packaging processes. Conduct quality tests on raw paddy, parboiled rice, and finished products. Check moisture content, grain quality, colour, broken grains, impurities, and other quality parameters. Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and quality control standards. Collect and maintain samples and laboratory records. Identify quality defects and recommend appropriate corrective actions. Monitor production processes to minimize waste and improve product yield. Ensure proper sanitation and hygiene within the production and laboratory areas. Prepare quality control reports and communicate findings to management and production teams. Ensure products meet applicable regulatory and customer requirements. Assist in implementing quality assurance procedures and continuous improvement initiatives.

B.Sc., HND, or OND in Food Technology, Food Science, or a related field. 1–3 years of relevant experience, preferably in a rice mill or food-processing industry. Good knowledge of food safety and quality control practices. Ability to conduct basic laboratory and food-quality tests. Good analytical, documentation, and communication skills. Attention to detail and ability to work effectively in a production environment.
