“Petromech is a company based in Kaduna, Nigeria, that specializes in waste management. Its primary focus is the production of base oils and motor oils from used lubricants. The company also operates a 15,000 m² workshop equipped to handle a wide range of mechanical maintenance, repair, and manufacturing services.” We are  recruiting to fill the position below:

Location: Kaduna Key Responsibilities

Install, inspect, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, distribution boards, control panels, and industrial electrical equipment. Diagnose and resolve electrical faults in production machinery, pumps, motors, compressors, and workshop equipment. Maintain and troubleshoot three-phase motors, motor starters, contactors, relays, overload protection devices, and control circuits. Inspect and troubleshoot variable frequency drives (VFDs), sensors, switches, and related machine control components. Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance to reduce equipment breakdowns and production downtime. Read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals. Install and terminate cables, cable trays, conduits, and equipment connections. Inspect earthing systems, protective devices, and electrical installations, and report unsafe conditions promptly. Support the maintenance of generators, changeover panels, and associated power supply systems. Coordinate with production and mechanical maintenance teams during equipment installation, breakdowns, and repairs. Maintain accurate records of inspections, faults, repairs, and spare parts requirements. Follow approved isolation, lockout/tagout, permit-to-work, and electrical safety procedures. Maintain tools and testing instruments in good condition and keep work areas clean and organised.

Relevant technical qualification, trade certificate, or vocational training in Electrical Installation, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Minimum 5 years of practical experience as an industrial electrician, preferably in a factory, manufacturing plant, or mechanical workshop. Strong hands-on experience with three-phase electrical systems, industrial motors, control panels, and machinery maintenance. Ability to diagnose electrical faults systematically and carry out repairs within authorised responsibilities. Ability to read electrical drawings and wiring diagrams. Competence in using electrical testing instruments, including multimeters, clamp meters, and insulation resistance testers. Practical knowledge of motor protection, electrical isolation, earthing, and safe working procedures. Experience with VFDs and industrial control systems; basic PLC fault-finding knowledge is an advantage. Experience working around oil processing or other flammable-material environments is an advantage. Strong attention to detail, reliability, and a disciplined approach to safety. Ability to work independently and coordinate effectively with production and maintenance teams.
