 Job Title: Internal Control / Verification Officer

We are seeking a detail-oriented, honest, and proactive Internal Control/Verification Officer to monitor company operations, verify transactions and records, ensure compliance with established policies, and identify potential risks or irregularities. The successful candidate will help maintain operational efficiency, accountability, and accuracy across the organization.

Verify transactions, financial records, documents, and operational activities for accuracy and completeness. Monitor compliance with company policies, procedures, and internal control standards. Conduct routine checks and internal reviews to identify errors, discrepancies, fraud risks, or irregularities. Verify supporting documents, payments, invoices, receipts, and other business records. Ensure that all approvals and authorizations are properly obtained before transactions are processed. Investigate discrepancies and report findings to management with recommendations for corrective action. Maintain accurate records of verification activities and prepare periodic reports. Monitor adherence to established operational procedures and regulatory requirements. Recommend improvements to internal controls and risk management processes. Maintain confidentiality and integrity when handling sensitive company information.

Requirements and Qualifications

A minimum of an HND or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Banking and Finance, or a related field. Previous experience in internal control, auditing, verification, compliance, or a similar role is an advantage. Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies. Good communication, reporting, and organizational skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other basic office applications. High level of integrity, honesty, accountability, and confidentiality. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Strong investigative and verification skills. Sound judgment and critical thinking. Accuracy and attention to detail. Effective time management. Ability to identify risks and recommend practical solutions. Professionalism and ethical conduct.
