The Women and Children Health Empowerment Foundation (WACHEF), is a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) registered to practice in Nigeria. The NGO works in partnership with public, private and other non-government organizations to promote accountability, good governance and contribute in achieving equitable, sustainable and quality healthcareand social services delivery among the poor and vulnerable population, especially women and childrenin Nigeria. WACHEF was registered with Taraba State Government in 2001 and with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) of Nigeria in August 2005 with registration number CAC/IT/No 19194. We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Project Coordinator - Clubfoot Programme
Locations: Jalingo - Taraba State, Nigeria
Employment Type: Full-time Responsibilities
Develop and implement detailed work plans and timelines for the clubfoot program. Coordinate the execution of project activities in line with MiracleFeet guidelines and project objectives in Adamawa, Benue and Taraba States. Oversee day-to-day operations of the project to ensure timely delivery of services and interventions. Identify and escalate operational risks or delays to the Chief Executive Officer/ Program Manager with proposed mitigation actions. Ensure adequate availability of materials, consumables, and equipment required for training and running of clubfoot clinics. Support in the development and review of monthly, quarterly and annual program reports for submission to WACHEF Management team and MiracleFeet. Organize and manage awareness campaigns to educate communities and healthcare workers about clubfoot and its treatment. Collaborate with local stakeholders, including government officials, community leaders, and healthcare institutions, to promote the program Coordinate training sessions for healthcare professionals on diagnosing and treating clubfoot. Monitor the performance and progress of trained personnel to ensure quality standards are met across states of implementation Establish referral pathways for early diagnosis and treatment of clubfoot. Facilitate access to free or subsidized treatment for affected children. Oversee follow-up and rehabilitation services to ensure positive long-term outcomes for patients. Monitor the quality of care provided by healthcare workers trained under the program. Ensure that project goals and milestones are being met, and address any challenges or delays. Use collected data to evaluate the program’s impact and suggest improvements. Advocate for the integration of clubfoot treatment into the state’s healthcare system. Work towards ensuring long-term sustainability by fostering local ownership of the program. Support the Finance Officer in developing expense reports and brace inventory reports
Promote a culture of child safeguarding and accountability across all clinics in Adamawa, Benue and Taraba States. Ensure compliance with safeguarding, ethical, and organizational policies across all clinics. Monitor implementation of safeguarding measures across all clinic sites. Immediately report and escalate safeguarding concerns in accordance with organizational procedures. Support staff and clinic team awareness and compliance with safeguarding requirements.
Referral Pathways & Patient Follow-Up:
Support the establishment and promotion of referral pathways for early clubfoot diagnosis, working alongside government health officials and facility leads. Facilitate patient access to free or subsidized treatment, coordinating with other Nigerian partners and community health workers. Monitor follow-up and treatment completion rates; escalate case gaps to the clinical lead.
Build and maintain relationships with state health authorities, community leaders, and partner institutions to support programme visibility and buy-in. Support awareness campaigns targeting communities and healthcare workers, coordinating logistics and content dissemination. Contribute to WACHEF’s advocacy for clubfoot treatment integration into state healthcare systems by providing field evidence and stakeholder insights to the Program Lead.
Data, Reporting & Learning:
Monitor and track the five KPIs on the project. Validate programme data using MiracleFeet’s data systems (CAST Community). Prepare monthly program reports for the Program Lead, including activity updates, outcome data, and identified challenges. Use programme data to identify trends, evaluate impact, and propose evidence-based improvements.
