Job Title: Project / Rig Accountant

Job Description
We are hiring an experienced project/rig accountant to maintain complete and accurate project accounting records and provide reliable cost, commitment, accrual, reconciliation and project-performance information.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain accurate and complete project accounting records and ensure all transactions are correctly coded to the appropriate project, cost centre, account and activity.
Coordinate project month-end accounting activities in accordance with the approved closing timetable.
Perform bank, supplier, customer, payroll and balance-sheet reconciliations and resolve outstanding items promptly.
Capture and report project expenditure by cost category, work package, vessel/rig activity, department and other relevant dimensions.
Review open purchase orders, goods/service receipts and unprocessed invoices to ensure project costs are recognized in the appropriate period.
Provide accurate cost and supporting information required for client billing and project revenue recognition.
Monitor outstanding purchase orders, commitments, invoices and accrued liabilities.
Prepare project accounting schedules, reconciliations and supporting reports required for management review.
Maintain proper records, supporting documentation and audit trails for activities under the position.
Protect company and project resources and maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
Work collaboratively with other project functions to support safe, efficient and commercially successful project delivery.
Required Skills, Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree / HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related discipline.
ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualification is a must have.
5–10 years’ relevant accounting experience, preferably in oil & gas, offshore drilling, marine, engineering, EPC or project environments.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Strong Microsoft Excel and ERP/accounting systems capability.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
Integrity, confidentiality, professional discipline and sound judgement.
Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary project teams.
