The Terminal Operations & Business Development Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of the terminal while driving  business growth through customer acquisition, sales, marketing, and strategic partnerships. The successful candidate will be commercially minded, with the ability to manage people and resources efficiently, attract new customers, strengthen existing relationships, and increase terminal revenue and profitability.

Oversee daily terminal operations, ensuring efficiency, safety, service quality, and compliance with company policies. Develop and implement business development strategies to attract new customers, increase patronage, and grow revenue. Identify and secure business opportunities, including corporate accounts, institutional clients, group bookings, and strategic partnerships. Drive sales and marketing activities to promote the company's services and improve market visibility. Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers, prospective clients, business partners, and other stakeholders. Manage terminal staff, assign responsibilities, monitor performance, and promote accountability and teamwork. Manage terminal resources, facilities, equipment, and operating expenses to ensure optimal utilization and cost control. Monitor revenue generation, sales performance, customer feedback, and operational efficiency, taking corrective action where necessary. Ensure accurate operational records, proper cash handling, revenue reconciliation, and prevention of revenue leakages. Resolve customer complaints promptly and implement measures to improve customer satisfaction and retention. Prepare regular reports on business development activities, revenue performance, operational challenges, and growth opportunities. Implement management directives and recommend practical improvements to terminal operations and business performance.

Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor's Degree or HND in Business Administration, Transport Management, Marketing, Management, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years' relevant experience in terminal operations, transportation, logistics, sales, business development, or a related industry. Previous experience managing staff, resources, and operational activities. Demonstrable experience in customer acquisition, sales generation, client relationship management, and business development. Experience in the transportation or logistics industry will be an advantage.

Strong business acumen and commercial awareness. Proven ability to identify and convert business opportunities into revenue. Excellent sales, marketing, negotiation, and relationship management skills. Strong leadership, people management, and decision-making abilities. Good financial awareness, including revenue monitoring and cost control. Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills. High level of integrity, accountability, initiative, and results orientation.
