 Job Title:  Accountant

Location: Abuja (FCT)

Employment Type: Full Time Responsibilities

Reconciling general ledgers, bank statements and balance sheets Analyzing financial data and managing employee or business expenses Preparing financial statements for management, shareholders and tax reporting Filing business taxes and ensuring compliance with local, provincial and federal regulations Conducting internal audits and variance analyses to identify trends or discrepancies Forecasting cash flow and making recommendations based on performance data Maintaining internal controls and accounting systems to support accuracy and prevent fraud

Bachelor’s degrees in Finance, Economics or Accounting for Accountant roles with a minimum of 5 years experience Applicants might have include Certified Accountant, Management Accountant, Financial Analyst, Internal Auditor and Fraud Examiner.

Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, NetSuite and Sage In-depth understanding of accounting rules and practices, such as the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Ability to work in spreadsheets, with knowledge of formulas and advanced functions, like pivot tables Strong mathematical skills Expert understanding of financial reports, including analyzing and creating them Knowledge of tax regulations.
