The thought of creating TERAWORK came to our founder in 2015 after an unpleasant experience where he engaged and worked remotely with an unknown person he met online to help complete a tech project. While it is clear he needed help from an expert for a few days, he didn’t get one. What contributed to the bad experience include lack of online platforms within the region with an end-to-end process for employing remote manpower in a flexible and safe manner.
In response, he created a process he uses repeatedly to find and engage, on on-demand basis, independent workers for his tasks. Unlike before, the process enables both himself and his independent worker trust working remotely with each other. He decided to build the process into a technology for a lot of people to benefit from.
Two years down the line, that technology becomes the foundation of our online freelance marketplace where businesses can conveniently engage, on ‘pay-as-you-go’ basis, freelance professionals across various services including software, mobile apps development, contents writing, creative designs, web design, SEO, digital marketing, animation production, audio/video services, photography, events planning, virtual assistance etc. to work on their projects. Job Summary
Are you a commercially driven retail professional with a passion for building winning product categories? We're looking for an experienced Category Manager (Food) to drive category growth, strengthen supplier partnerships, and maximise sales and profitability across our food portfolio.
Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute category strategies to drive sales, market share, and profitability.
Manage product assortment, pricing, promotions, and category performance.
Negotiate commercial terms, pricing, rebates, and promotional support with suppliers.
Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer insights to identify growth opportunities.
Plan product launches, promotional campaigns, and category development initiatives.
Manage inventory levels, replenishment, and product availability across stores.
Coordinate with supply chain and warehouse teams to ensure efficient product flow.
Track vendor performance, profitability, contracts, and payment status.
Work closely with Marketing, Commercial, and Operations teams to achieve business objectives.
Analyse category performance and provide recommendations to improve sales and margins.
RequirementsBachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Supply Chain, or a related field.
3–5 years' experience in Category Management, Buying, or Merchandising within the retail or FMCG industry.
Strong experience managing food categories (grocery, beverages, dairy, frozen foods, fresh produce, etc.).
Proven negotiation and supplier management skills.
Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.
Commercial mindset with excellent planning and execution abilities.
SalaryN500,000 per month.
