Job Summary
Sweet Tooth Confectioneries & CornerStore Limited is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Accountant to join our Finance team.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring production costs, analyzing financial data, maintaining inventory costing, and providing insights that support cost optimization and profitability in our manufacturing and retail operations.
Manufacturing cost accountants are commonly expected to perform cost analysis, variance reporting, inventory reconciliation, budgeting, and profitability analysis. (AccountingTools).
Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare and maintain accurate product costing and cost reports.
Analyze production costs, material usage, labour, and overhead costs.
Monitor inventory valuation and perform periodic reconciliations.
Conduct variance analysis and recommend cost-saving initiatives.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards.
Collaborate with Production, Procurement, Inventory, and Finance teams to improve operational efficiency.
Prepare weekly and monthly management reports on cost performance.
Assist during stock counts and internal/external audits.
RequirementsBachelor's degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
ICAN, ACCA, or ACA certification (or in view) is an added advantage.
Minimum of 3 years' experience in cost accounting, preferably in a manufacturing or FMCG environment.
Strong knowledge of inventory management and cost accounting principles.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP software.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
High level of integrity and attention to detail.
