Job Title: Deputy Head of Finance

Location: Obajana, Kogi

Job Summary

  • The Dangote Cement Transport  is looking for a qualified and result-oriented professional to fill the position of Deputy Head of Finance.
  • You will be responsible for supporting the Head of Finance in managing all financial activities related to the organization's operations.
  • This role involves ensuring robust financial planning and management, effective budgeting, and compliance with accounting standards.
  • You will also play a crucial role in financial reporting and strategic financial decision-making

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and implementing financial strategies that support business objectives.
  • Oversee and manage the preparation of financial reports, budgets, and forecasts to ensure accuracy and integrity of data.
  • Guiding financial decision-making by providing timely and relevant financial data and insights.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards including IFRS and local regulations.
  • Lead the financial planning and analysis processes to support operational and strategic goals.
  • Continuously monitor financial performance against budget and identify variances for corrective actions.
  • Support the Head of Finance in managing relationships with external auditors, tax authorities, and other stakeholders.
  • Mentor and develop the finance team to enhance their skills, knowledge, and effectiveness.
  • Implement and monitor internal financial controls to mitigate risks and ensure compliance.

Requirements
Education and Work Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA) are highly desirable.
  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in financial management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles and standards.
  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly.
  • Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems, preferably SAP.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and juggle multiple tasks and priorities.
