Job Title: Kitchen Assistant
Location: Abuja (FCT)
Job Description
Assist chefs with basic food preparation (washing, peeling, chopping, portioning ingredients)
Maintain cleanliness of kitchen work areas, equipment, and utensils throughout shifts
Wash dishes, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment
Receive, check, and store food suppliescorrectly, ensuring proper stock rotation (FIFO)
Assist with inventory counts and report low stock or supply issues to senior kitchen staff
Ensure food is stored, labeled, and dated correctly to prevent spoilage and cross-contamination
Dispose of kitchen waste properly and maintain cleanliness of bins and waste areas
Follow all food safety and hygiene procedures at all times
Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance issues to the relevant supervisor
Prepare simple dishes or components under chef supervision as required
RequirementsCandidates should possess a HND / OND qualification with 1 - 3 years proven work experience (in a hotel, restaurant or catering services).
The ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
The ability to work in a team.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Effective communication skills.
