Job Title: Logistics Officer (Civil)

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Role

  • We are seeking a Logistics Officer to manage the planning, coordination, and execution of logistics activities across our construction project sites.
  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for the movement and management of materials, personnel, and equipment, as well as developing site logistics solutions to ensure operational efficiency and safety compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the movement of materials, drivers, and equipment at construction sites.
  • Oversee the storage and on-site handling of construction materials and tools
  • Ensure the company complies with all applicable transportation and safety regulations, including those related to hazardous materials.
  • Plan and manage internal and external logistics routes, ensuring safe and efficient movement across the site.
  • Develop and implement effective site set-up plans for labour, plant, and material movement.
  • Maintain inventory and oversight of project vehicles on-site.
  • Schedule, book, and follow up on deliveries while preparing regular status reports.
  • Plan site set-up to move labour, plant, and materials around site efficiently
  • Evaluate and coordinate logistics suppliers and delivery management systems.
  • Work closely with procurement teams to understand materials scheduling and planning.
  • Manage subcontractors and third-party vendors for timely delivery of materials and equipment.
  • Identify, design, and implement process improvements in logistics operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, Humanities, or a related field from recognized University
  • 3-5 years’ experience in Logistics, supply chain or transportation management, preferably within the construction industry.
  • Solid understanding of procurement, forecasting, and inventory systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex logistics issues and contribute to supply chain strategy.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong personal commitment to continuous improvement and self-development.
  • Ability to identify, design and implement process improvements.
