The Manager, Fund Analysis & Reporting will lead Sankore’s fund performance analysis, financial reporting, and investor reporting functions. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, and insightful reporting across all investment funds, supporting strategic decision-making, regulatory compliance, and transparent communication with stakeholders. The Manager, Fund Analysis & Reporting will also play a critical role in translating complex financial and investment data into clear insights for internal leadership and external investors.

Key Responsibilities

Regulators and Compliance Advisors. External Consultants and Data Providers. Fund Analysis & Performance Monitoring. Lead end-to-end performance analytics, including gross/net returns, IRR, MOIC, yield analysis, and benchmark comparisons. Conduct portfolio attribution analysis (asset-level, sector-level, and strategy-level performance drivers). Develop scenario and sensitivity models to assess impact of market changes, FX movements, and macroeconomic factors. Monitor liquidity, concentration, and exposure limits across portfolios. Establish early warning indicators for underperformance and emerging risks. Partner with investment teams to validate assumptions used in valuation and performance reporting. Track and evaluate peer fund performance and market comparables. Automate performance tracking using BI tools to enable real-time insights.

Net Asset Value (NAV) Oversight & Controls:

Define and enforce NAV governance frameworks, including policies, procedures, and sign-off protocols. Review complex asset valuations (private equity, real estate, illiquid instruments, derivatives). Ensure proper fair value hierarchy classification (Level 1, 2, 3 assets where applicable). Oversee pricing sources and vendor relationships for market data inputs. Validate fee calculations, including management fees, performance fees, and carried interest. Review capital account allocations and investor-level NAV accuracy. Monitor cut-off times and trade capture accuracy impacting NAV. Lead NAV error escalation procedures, including root cause analysis and remediation. Implement automated reconciliation tools between portfolio systems, custodians, and general ledger. Ensure compliance with IFRS / GAAP valuation standards and internal policies.


Reporting & Data Management:

Design and maintain a centralized data architecture for fund and portfolio reporting. Implement data governance frameworks, including data validation rules and ownership structures. Oversee integration of multiple data sources (custodians, administrators, investment systems). Ensure version control and audit trails for all reporting outputs. Enhance reporting through data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI dashboards). Standardize reporting templates and formats across funds and asset classes. Monitor data quality KPIs and resolve inconsistencies proactively. Support development of self-service reporting tools for internal stakeholders.


Financial & Regulatory Reporting Support:

Oversee preparation of regulatory returns and filings (e.g., SEC, local regulators, tax authorities depending on jurisdiction). Ensure compliance with fund structures and legal documentation (PPMs, trust deeds, LP agreements). Support financial statement preparation, including notes and disclosures. Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulators during reviews and inspections. Monitor changes in regulatory frameworks and assess impact on fund reporting. Ensure adherence to AML/KYC reporting obligations where applicable. Validate investor-level reporting accuracy in line with regulatory expectations.


Strategic & Management Support:

Provide data-driven insights to guide portfolio rebalancing and capital allocation decisions. Support new fund launches, including structuring input, performance projections, and reporting setup. Develop business intelligence packs for senior management highlighting trends and risks. Assist in product development and innovation using market and performance data. Support due diligence processes for prospective investors or partners. Deliver ad-hoc analysis on macroeconomic trends, sectors, and asset classes. Contribute to long-term strategy planning and performance forecasting.


Team Leadership:

Define team structure, roles, and responsibilities aligned with business priorities. Establish standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all fund analysis and reporting activities. Drive a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement. Mentor team members on technical skills (valuation, analytics, reporting tools). Oversee capacity planning and resource allocation across multiple funds. Lead implementation of automation and process improvement initiatives. Conduct performance reviews and succession planning. Foster collaboration with investment, finance, risk, and operations teams.


Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (Master’s or CFA preferred). 4–6+ years experience in fund analysis, investment reporting, or asset management. Strong knowledge of investment performance metrics and fund structures. Experience working with fund administrators and auditors. Advanced Excel/financial modeling skills (Power BI or similar tools is a plus). Strong leadership and communication skills.
