Job Title: Production / Factory Accountant
Location: Ososa, Ogun
Job Type: Full Time Job Purpose
The Production/Factory Accountant is responsible for managing all factory-related accounting activities, ensuring accurate product costing, inventory valuation, manufacturing cost control, and financial reporting. The role partners with Production, Supply Chain, Procurement and Operations teams to provide timely financial insights, monitor manufacturing performance, optimize production costs, and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
Manage all factory accounting activities, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of manufacturing financial records. Prepare and maintain product costing, standard costing and cost allocation models for all production lines. Monitor direct material, direct labor and manufacturing overhead costs, identifying cost drivers and recommending improvement initiatives. Analyze production costs, yield variances, material usage and operational efficiencies, providing recommendations to management. Prepare daily, weekly and monthly production cost reports and management reports. Reconcile raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), finished goods and production inventory with physical stock records. Ensure accurate inventory valuation in accordance with applicable accounting standards and company policies. Monitor inventory movements, stock adjustments, write-offs and obsolete inventory, ensuring appropriate financial treatment. Support month-end and year-end closing activities relating to factory operations, including journal entries, accruals and reconciliations.
First Degree or its equivalent in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other related discipline Professional Certification, e.g. ACA, ACCA, CFA, etc. is required Minimum of 7 years’ relevant experience on similar role.
