Fidelity  Bank Plc began operations in 1988 as Fidelity Union Merchant Bank Limited. By 1990, it had distinguished itself as the fastest growing merchant bank in the country. However, to leverage the emerging opportunities in the commercial and consumer end of  financial services in Nigeria, in 1999, it converted to commercial  banking and changed its name to Fidelity Bank Plc. It became a universal bank in February 2001, with a license to offer the entire spectrum of commercial, consumer, corporate and investment banking services. We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Relationship Manager

Location: Lagos

Job Type: Full-time Role Description

The Relationship Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Lagos, responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of retail and corporate clients. This role involves building strong, long-term relationships, understanding clients’ financial needs, and recommending appropriate banking products and services. The Relationship Manager will conduct regular client meetings, prepare proposals, and coordinate account opening and onboarding activities. The role includes monitoring account performance, identifying cross-selling and upselling opportunities, and ensuring high standards of customer satisfaction. The Relationship Manager will collaborate with internal teams to resolve client issues, support credit applications, adhere to risk and compliance requirements, and contribute to achieving branch and bank-wide revenue targets.


Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field; a relevant professional certification (e.g., CIBN) is an advantage. Prior experience in relationship management or sales within the banking or financial services industry is highly beneficial. Client relationship and account management skills, with the ability to build trust, maintain partnerships, and deliver excellent customer service. Sales, business development, and negotiation skills to identify opportunities, close deals, and meet or exceed financial and non-financial targets. Strong analytical and financial acumen, including credit analysis, portfolio monitoring, and understanding of banking products and market trends. Effective communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills for engaging clients, collaborating with internal stakeholders, and presenting solutions clearly. Organizational and time management skills to handle multiple accounts, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in basic banking software, CRM tools, and Microsoft Office applications.
