Location: Ijesha, Lagos Job Summary

The Trade Services Head is responsible for leading and managing all trade service operations, ensuring efficient processing of domestic and international trade transactions while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies. The role oversees trade finance products, mitigates operational risks, enhances customer experience, and drives continuous process improvement.

Lead and supervise all trade services operations. Oversee the processing of:

Letters of Credit (Import & Export) Bank Guarantees Bills for Collection Documentary Collections Standby Letters of Credit Trade Loans Shipping Guarantees

Ensure timely and accurate execution of trade transactions.

Central Bank regulations International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) rules (UCP 600, URC, ISP98, Incoterms) Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements Internal policies and procedures

Identify and mitigate operational and compliance risks.

Provide technical support to corporate and commercial banking customers. Resolve complex customer issues promptly. Maintain high service quality and customer satisfaction.

Lead, coach, mentor, and develop the Trade Services team. Conduct performance reviews and identify training needs. Foster a high-performance culture.

Review and improve trade processing workflows. Drive automation and digitization initiatives. Ensure adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

Treasury Compliance Corporate Banking Operations Risk Management Legal

Liaise with correspondent banks and regulatory bodies.

Trade volumes Revenue performance Operational risks Compliance issues Outstanding transactions

Present business performance updates to senior management.

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Banking, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field. Master’s degree or MBA is an added advantage. Professional certifications such as CDCS (Certified Documentary Credit Specialist), CITF (Certificate in International Trade and Finance), ACCA, ACA, or relevant banking certifications are desirable.

10-15 years of banking or trade finance experience. Minimum of 5-8 years in a leadership or managerial role within trade services or trade finance. Strong knowledge of international trade regulations and banking operations
