Job Summary

The Catfish Farm Worker will be responsible for the daily care, feeding, monitoring, and maintenance of catfish production systems at Laj Aquaculture. The role involves hands-on farm work, ensuring optimal fish health, water quality, and farm hygiene, as well as supporting harvesting, sales preparation, and record keeping.

Key Responsibilities

Fish Rearing & Feeding


Feed catfish according to the farm feeding schedule and growth stage.
Monitor feeding behaviour and adjust feed quantities accordingly.


Water Quality & Pond/Tank Management


Check water levels and quality parameters regularly.
Clean tanks, ponds, and water inlet/outlet systems as required.


Health & Stock Monitoring


Observe fish daily for signs of stress, illness, or abnormal behaviour.
Report any mortalities, injuries, or disease outbreaks to the Farm Manager.


Harvesting & Sales Support


Assist in grading, sorting, and harvesting fish for sale.
Help with weighing, packaging, and customer loading.


Farm Maintenance


Maintain cleanliness of the farm site, equipment, and tools.
Carry out minor repairs and report maintenance needs.


Record Keeping


Assist in logging feed usage, mortality, harvest weights, and sales records.


Qualifications & Skills


Prior experience in fish farming (especially catfish) is an advantage but not mandatory — training will be provided.
Ability to work with minimal supervision and follow instructions.
Physically fit and able to handle manual labour tasks.
Willingness to work early mornings, weekends, and public holidays when necessary.
Basic literacy and numeracy skills for recording farm activities.
