Civil Engineer

Job Overview


We are seeking a skilled Civil Engineer to manage all aspects of building construction projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in various building types and stages, from foundation to finishing touches.
A crucial aspect of this role involves accurately interpreting architectural and structural plans, collaborating with contractors, and guiding on-site teams to deliver projects safely, punctually, and within budget constraints.


Essential Responsibilities


Project Management: Oversee and direct construction activities across multiple sites, ensuring adherence to structural and architectural designs, specifications, and schedules.
Blueprint Interpretation: Accurately analyze and implement architectural, structural, and MEP drawings, ensuring alignment with on-site construction execution.
Construction Oversight: Supervise the construction of diverse building types including residential complexes, high-rise structures, commercial buildings, and mixed-use developments.
Team Leadership: Provide strong guidance to site supervisors, foremen, and workers; efficiently delegate tasks and optimize team performance.
Quality Control: Implement rigorous quality assurance procedures and monitor construction standards to ensure delivery of premium developments.
Stakeholder Coordination: Interact with subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and government officials to facilitate smooth project execution.
Issue Resolution: Proactively identify and address site challenges, engineering obstacles, and project delays with practical, cost-effective solutions.
Financial & Resource Management: Collaborate closely with project manager and quantity surveyor team to monitor project budgets, timelines, and resource allocation.
Safety Compliance: Ensure all on-site activities strictly adhere to health and safety standards, building codes, and environmental regulations.
Documentation: Deliver regular project progress reports, site logs, and technical documentation to management and stakeholders.


Qualifications


Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
Professional Certification: COREN registration mandatory; PMP or relevant construction certifications advantageous.
Experience: 5–10 years in building construction with proven track record in real estate development or construction firms.
Leadership: Demonstrated ability to guide large teams on complex projects with excellent people management and coordination abilities.
Analytical Capabilities: Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; able to collaborate effectively across disciplines.
Flexibility: Willingness to work in dynamic environments and adapt to flexible working hours as project demands require.


Technical Expertise:


Comprehensive knowledge of construction methodologies, materials, and legal regulations.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, MS Project, and other relevant engineering software.
