Slum and Rural Health Initiative is a nonprofit organization that started operations in 2017 and is officially registered in Nigeria, Ethiopia, and the Gambia It improves access to healthcare information and services in Africa, especially in vulnerable and underserved communities using the tools of advocacy, research, and technology. We are a ‘multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, social scientists information technology experts, researchers, graphic designers, and social entrepreneurs who are passionate about changing the sad narrative of healthcare information and service delivery in Nigeria, Ethiopia, and other parts of Africa. We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Clinical Psychologist
Locations: Abuja and Ibadan, Oyo Role Overview
Provide clinical mental health assessment, diagnosis, and treatment services to beneficiaries within SRHIN's mental health programmes, while contributing to community mental health awareness initiatives.
Conduct psychiatric/psychological assessments and provide evidence-based treatment and therapy Develop and implement individualised care and treatment plans Maintain accurate and confidential clinical records Provide clinical supervision and support to junior mental health staff, where applicable Support community mental health outreach, education, and stigma-reduction activities Collaborate with the broader health and research teams on mental health programme design and evaluation Refer clients to appropriate specialist services as needed.
Required Qualifications & Experience
An advanced degree in Clinical Psychology Valid practising licence/registration with the relevant Nigerian professional body (e.g. Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria, or Association of Clinical Psychologists) Minimum of 2 years' clinical experience Experience working in community or NGO mental health settings is an advantage Strong ethical grounding, empathy, and cultural sensitivity in working with underserved populations.
