Description
SmartBay Eye & Dental Clinic, 76 TOS Benson Road (Beach Road), opposite NNPC Filling Station, General Hospital Road, Ebute, Ikorodu, Lagos,is seeking a skilled, compassionate, and patient-focused Dental Officer to join our growing clinical team.
The successful candidate will provide quality dental care, perform routine examinations and treatments, educate patients on oral health, and contribute to a positive and professional patient experience.
Key ResponsibilitiesConduct comprehensive dental examinations and assess patients' oral health.
Diagnose and manage common dental and oral health conditions.
Perform routine dental procedures including scaling and polishing, fillings, extractions, and other appropriate treatments.
Develop and implement appropriate treatment plans for patients.
Provide preventive dental care and oral health education.
Educate patients on proper brushing, flossing, nutrition, and general oral hygiene.
Manage dental emergencies and provide appropriate referrals where necessary.
Maintain accurate and confidential patient records.
Follow strict infection prevention and control procedures.
Work closely with dental assistants, optometrists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
Participate in dental outreaches, school programs, corporate screenings, and community health initiatives.
Ensure all dental equipment and treatment areas are properly maintained.
Stay updated on current dental practices, technologies, and clinical guidelines.
RequirementsBachelor's Degree in Dentistry (BDS) from a recognized institution.
Must be fully registered with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
Valid practicing license.
Minimum of 1–3 years post-qualification experience is preferred.
Strong clinical and diagnostic skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Compassionate, professional, and patient-centered approach.
Good attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate clinical records.
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Experience with electronic medical records is an added advantage.
