Marine Operations Assistant

RESPONSIBILITIES 


Work closely with the Marine Manager and vessel's crew.
Oversee the day-to-day operations of Marine Assets.
Monitor maintenance, crew performance, and safety records.
Assist with the recruitment of seafarers.
Conduct internal audits to ensure required standards are met.
Ensure compliance with regulatory developments.
Oversee the implementation of the company’s QHSSE policies and procedures.
Provide Business Development Support.
Develop and manage relationships with key players and relevant bodies in the industry.
Assist in building relationships with various vendors.
Actively improve management systems and communication lines.
Prepare periodic reports of activities for management.


QUALIFICATION AND REQUIREMENTS 


A Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Marine Engineering 
Minimum of 4 years of professional experience.
At least 1 year Post NYSC experience
Practical hands-on experience in the Marine field and a good understanding of relevant industry practices, codes, and standards
Must have good knowledge of IMO regulations and codes including; SOLAS, ISM, ISPS, STCW, MLC 2006, and ISO.
Good understanding of Offshore Support Vessel Operations, STS operations, and Terminal Operations.
Good knowledge of both international and local maritime legislations, specifically as it relates to NIMASA, Port State Control, Flag State Control, and Classification Society roles in vessel operations.
Advanced knowledge and use of Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
