Manager, Accounts and Payables will lead the company’s accounts payable function, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of all vendor payments in compliance with internal policies and external regulations. This role is responsible for implementing strong financial controls, improving process efficiency, managing vendor relationships, and supporting the company’s broader financial goals. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in accounts payable operations within the oil and gas or EPC industry.
Lead and manage end-to-end accounts payable operations. Ensure timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices, purchase orders, and payment runs. Monitor and reconcile vendor accounts, resolving discrepancies promptly. Maintain accurate aging reports and oversee payables reconciliations.
Develop and enforce robust AP policies and procedures aligned with internal controls. Ensure compliance with regulatory, tax, and audit requirements. Coordinate with internal and external auditors during financial audits.
Vendor Management:Management
Maintain strong relationships with vendors, ensuring clear communication and issue resolution. Monitor vendor performance, payment terms, and negotiate favorable credit terms where applicable. Handle vendor onboarding and ensure documentation completeness.
Drive continuous improvement of accounts payable processes to enhance efficiency and reduce risks. Support the automation and digitization of AP workflows. Oversee the integration of AP activities within the ERP system.
Provide regular reports on AP metrics including aging, cash disbursement forecasts, and DPO (Days Payable Outstanding). Work closely with Treasury to align payment schedules with cash flow projections. Analyze AP trends to support strategic decision-making.
Lead, train, and motivate the accounts payable team to deliver high performance. Set team goals and KPIs aligned with organizational objectives. Promote a culture of accountability, professionalism, and continuous learning.
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with 8–10 years of progressive experience in accounting and payables management Professional certification: ICAN, ACCA, or CPA (required). Experience in the oil and gas, EPC, or energy services industry is highly desirable Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax regulations, procurement-to-payment cycles, and financial systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Sage, etc.).
