Job Title: Real Estate Accountant
Location: VGC, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Key Responsibilities
Estate Billing & Service Charge Management: Calculate and reconcile utility, facility, and maintenance service charges (generator fuel, pool maintenance, security) across multi-resident estates; issue invoices and track collections.
Project & Construction Accounting: Monitor project budgets, review contractor quotations and payment milestones, verify valuations, and process disbursements for construction projects.
Financial Reporting: Prepare comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, variance analyses, and cash flow forecasts for executive management.
Accounts Payable & Receivable: Manage ledger entries, maintain vendor and resident accounts, reconcile bank statements, and enforce debt collection policies.
Taxation & Statutory Compliance: Prepare, file, and remit statutory taxes (VAT, WHT, PAYE, CIT) in full compliance with local tax regulations.
Budgeting & Cost Control: Assist leadership in preparing operational budgets, identifying cost-saving opportunities across estate operations, and monitoring expenditure against approved budgets.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience: 3+ years of accounting experience, specifically within real estate development, property management, or construction.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills (financial modeling, dynamic formulas, pivot tables).
Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of service charge distribution models, job-costing, and contractor payment structures.
Competencies: High attention to detail, strong analytical capabilities, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
