 Job Title: Special Assistant to the Chief Executive Officer

Location: Lagos

Employment Type: Full-time About the Role

The Special Assistant to the Chief Executive will serve as a trusted business partner to the Chief Executive, providing strategic, operational, administrative, and project support across key areas of the business. The role is designed for a high-potential professional who desires direct exposure to executive leadership, business development, strategic planning, and operational management. The successful candidate will work closely with the Chief Executive on high-impact initiatives while developing the skills and experience required for broader leadership responsibilities. For the right candidate, this role offers a clear leadership development pathway and potential succession opportunity within the organisation.


Key Responsibilities
Strategic Support & Special Projects:

Support the Chief Executive in the execution of strategic initiatives and business priorities. Conduct research, market intelligence, and competitive analysis to support decision-making. Prepare briefing notes, reports, presentations, and business recommendations. Drive special projects from conception through implementation.


Executive Coordination & Administration:

Manage the Chief Executive's calendar, appointments, meetings, and travel schedules. Coordinate and prioritise executive correspondence and communications. Monitor action items and ensure timely follow-up on key commitments.


Stakeholder Management & Communication:

Serve as a liaison between the Chief Executive and internal teams, clients, partners, regulators, and other stakeholders. Support relationship management activities and maintain effective communication channels.


Documentation & Reporting:

Prepare, review, and edit reports, presentations, proposals, meeting materials, and official correspondence. Maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive business and executive information. Develop executive summaries and management reports as required.


Meeting Management:

Coordinate executive meetings and engagements. Prepare agendas, record minutes, and track action items to completion. Ensure timely execution of decisions arising from meetings.


Business Development Support:

Assist in identifying business opportunities, partnerships, and growth initiatives. Support proposal preparation, stakeholder engagements, and strategic business initiatives. Contribute to the development and implementation of growth strategies.


Professional Development:

Demonstrate willingness to undertake industry-specific training and development. Be willing to obtain the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Certification in Travel Operations & Management.

Requirements
Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Management, Marketing, International Relations, or a related field. Previous experience supporting senior executives, coordinating projects, managing operations, or working in a fast-paced business environment will be an advantage.


Core Competencies:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organisational and time-management abilities. Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills. High attention to detail and execution excellence. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook). Strong competence in online research and the effective use of LinkedIn, Instagram, and other digital platforms. Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform effectively under pressure. Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
