 Job Title: Medical Laboratory Technician

Location: Surulere, Lagos

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Laboratory Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sample collection, laboratory analysis, and supporting daily operations to ensure accurate and timely diagnostic services. Upholding clinic policies, principles, and applicable laws, you will provide therapeutic patient care, ensure a safe and therapeutic environment, and contribute to the development of specialty focused medical care within the clinic. Attention to detail, excellent provider-client interaction skills, and good communication abilities will be instrumental in delivering services and documenting patient information accurately. The recommended candidate is required to possess the necessary expertise to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage clinical supplies and equipment effectively. They shall ensure commitment to extraordinary customer relations, quality care service, and the well-being of clients aligns with MSIN's mission to enable individuals to have children by choice, promoting a culture where abuse is not tolerated and safeguarding clients from harm.

General Responsibilities


The responsibilities of the Laboratory Technician shall include:

Collect blood and other samples (urine, stool, swabs) from patients following standard procedures. Ensure proper labelling, handling, and documentation of all specimens. Provide patient education and reassurance during sample collection. Maintain sample collection areas in a clean and sanitized condition. Enter sample details and results into the Laboratory Information System. Support Laboratory inventory management Provide professional and courteous service to patients and clients. Uphold confidentiality and ethical laboratory practices at all times.


Clinical Responsibilities:

Conform to the critical service standards established for the clinic and the medical team. Provide therapeutic patient care in accordance with the patients care code, established by the physician, within scope of practice. Assist the physician or other medical staff personnel with examinations and treatments by providing support to patient, chaperoning and other assistance as directed or required. Document patient signs, symptoms, observations, and therapeutic treatments to patient's medical record.


Communication and Administration:

Ensure formal communications with the various health partners are properly documented Follow up on all client complaints relating to any of the MSIN services and make recommendations. Make proper use of available information systems in MSI to facilitate service delivery & trainings Manage and properly account for all MSIN resources and properties at the clinic Support the marketing team by providing technical advice to clients at the small and large group activations periodically

Required Qualifications

To perform this role, it is essential that you have the following:

Minimum 2 years of Medical Laboratory experience HND in Medical Laboratory Technology Training/Certification in the Microbiology/Haematology field is an added advantage Must be registered with the Medical Laboratory  Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN) and licensed to practice as a Medical Laboratory Technician or Scientist. Hold Computer literacy Strong attention to detail Professionalism Excellent patient care.
