Job Title: Process Checker - B2C, Premium Edible Oil Product Limited (PEOPL)
Location: Ibadan, Oyo
Employment Type: Full-time Purpose
To monitor production activities and ensure that in-process and finished products comply with approved specifications, regulatory and food safety standards, company requirements, and customer expectations, while supporting the effective implementation and maintenance of the Food Safety Management System (FSMS).
The Job
Monitor production and packaging activities to ensure compliance with quality, food safety, and operational standards. Identify non-conforming products, quarantine affected batches, and escalate quality issues appropriately. Draw, label, and maintain representative reference samples for all production lots. Conduct line inspections to verify cleanliness, sanitation, and hygiene compliance before and during production. Monitor personnel hygiene practices within production and packaging areas, report non-compliance, and issue relevant documentation. Document and report quality-related observations, findings, and deviations to the Compliance/Quality Assurance Officer. Support the implementation and maintenance of Food Safety Management System (FSMS) requirements within the plant. Verify the functionality and accuracy of weighing scales in recipe weighing and production areas, maintain inspection records, and report defects. Ensure strict adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), food safety requirements, and workplace safety regulations. Participate in quality monitoring activities and support continuous improvement initiatives. Promptly report food safety incidents, risks, non-conformities, and opportunities for improvement through established channels. Carry out other duties as assigned by the Compliance/Quality Assurance Officer or Management.
Minimum of an Ordinary National Diploma (OND) in Pure and Applied Sciences, Physical Sciences, Food Science, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or a related discipline.
Minimum of two (2) years' relevant experience in Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Food Safety, or a manufacturing environment. Experience in FMCG or food manufacturing operations will be an added advantage. Familiarity with Food Safety Management Systems (FSMS), GMP, and quality inspection processes is desirable.
Have a strong eye for detail and a commitment to product quality and food safety. Demonstrate knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), hygiene, and quality assurance principles. Possess good observation, inspection, and reporting skills. Be able to identify and escalate quality deviations promptly. Have strong record-keeping and documentation abilities. Demonstrate integrity, accountability, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Be capable of working effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Possess good communication and interpersonal skills. Have a strong commitment to safety and compliance standards.
