Responsibilities
Install, terminate, splice, and test fiber optic cables for customer installations and network expansion projects.
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on the FTTH and backbone fiber network.
Conduct fiber optic testing using OTDR, Optical Power Meter, Light Source, Visual Fault Locator (VFL), and other testing equipment.
Troubleshoot and resolve fiber faults, signal degradation, and network outages within agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
Install, configure, and maintain Optical Line Terminals (OLTs), Optical Network Terminals (ONTs), splitters, and associated fiber infrastructure.
Perform customer installations, relocations, upgrades, and service restorations.
Carry out fiber route surveys and recommend the most efficient installation paths.
Ensure proper cable routing, labeling, and documentation of all fiber installations.
Monitor network performance and proactively identify potential issues affecting service quality.
Perform emergency restoration of damaged fiber cables resulting from cuts or other network incidents.
Coordinate with the GNOC, Project, Infrastructure, and Customer Support teams to resolve technical issues efficiently.
Ensure all installations comply with company standards, engineering specifications, and safety regulations.
Maintain accurate records of installations, maintenance activities, fault resolutions, and network changes.
Assist in the deployment and commissioning of new fiber infrastructure projects.
Conduct acceptance testing for newly deployed fiber links and customer connections.
