The Fixed Assets Manager at Dangote Cement Plc is responsible for managing and maintaining DCP’s fixed asset records/register and ensure proper accounting of fixed assets at the plant, in compliance with DCP’s fixed assets policies.
Key Duties and Responbilities
Providing information for fixed asset reporting, such as summarizing financial activity for inclusion in the property, Plant and Equipment section of the financial statements. Ensure Asset Register reconciliation. Identify fully depreciated Asset, Asset flagged for Impairment & Disposal and set disposal procedure in Motion. Review and track the compilation of project costs into PPE accounts, and close out those accounts once the related projects have been completed to OCP PPE register. Ensure monthly review and update detailed schedule of fixed assets and accumulated depreciation. Support HO in preparing audit schedules relating to fixed assets and assist in responding to Internal and External Auditors inquiries. Prepares age analysis of CWIP and obtains justification from budget champion as required. Review and reconcile Intercompany and Interplant Transaction. Carry out investigation on potential obsolesce of PPE Oversee Fixed Assets Physical Verification and reconciliation. Perform any other duties assigned by CFO.
Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in accounting or other related discipline. Relevant professional qualifications such as ACA, CIMA, CPA, ACCA. Minimum of ten (10) years relevant experience. Good understanding of trends, challenges, opportunities, regulations and legislations relating to the cement manufacturing industry. Good knowledge and understanding of finance best practices, IFRS, and other applicable accounting standards. Basic knowledge of accounting packages and systems, including SAP. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Good organizational skills. Good data gathering, analysis and problem-solving skills High ethical standards and integrity.
