Job Title: Inventory & Audit Officer

Location: Ibeju-Lekki, Free Trade Zone - Lagos

The Inventory & Audit Officer will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, monitoring the movement of raw materials, packaging materials, work-in-progress, and finished products, and conducting regular stock audits across the manufacturing and warehouse operations. The role will ensure that inventory transactions are properly recorded, stock variances are identified and investigated, materials are safeguarded, and inventory processes comply with established company policies and controls.


Key Responsibilities

Monitor and maintain accurate records of all raw materials, packaging materials, consumables, work-in-progress, and finished goods. Reconcile physical stock with system records and investigate discrepancies. Monitor stock levels and identify slow-moving, fast-moving, damaged, expired, or obsolete inventory. Ensure proper documentation and authorization for all inventory movements. Monitor adherence to FIFO/FEFO principles where applicable. Work closely with the Production, Warehouse, Procurement, and Finance teams to maintain inventory accuracy. Audit the movement of raw materials from the warehouse to production. Audit finished goods received from production and transferred to the warehouse. Review stock adjustments, write-offs, returns, and damaged goods for proper authorization. Conduct routine audits of inventory-related processes and controls. Compare actual material consumption against standard or expected consumption. Monitor production wastage and identify unusual or excessive material losses. Assist in investigating material variances between production output and material consumption. Conduct periodic reconciliation of production input, output, rejects, and wastage. Provide management with reports on stock movements and inventory accuracy. Maintain accurate records of all inventory audits and stock counts.


Requirements

Bachelor's Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, Auditing, Supply Chain Management, Inventory Management, Business Administration, or a related field. 2–3 years of experience in inventory control, internal audit, warehouse audit, stock management, or a related role. Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably FMCG, hygiene products, or similar industries, is an advantage. Candidates must be residents of Ibeju-Lekki or its immediate surroundings.
