Established in 2009, Efezi Southsea Nigeria Limited is a hospitality consultancy firm specializing in providing expert services to small and medium-sized hotels. We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Hotel Auditor
Location: Ikeja, Lagos Key Roles & Responsibilities
Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly audits of hotel revenue and expenses. Verify daily sales from rooms, restaurant, bar, laundry, events, and other revenue centres. Conduct Night Audit and reconcile daily hotel transactions. Check cash collections, POS transactions, bank deposits, and payment records. Reconcile discrepancies between the PMS, POS, cashbook, and accounting records. Audit discounts, complimentary rooms, voids, refunds, cancellations, and allowances. Monitor stock usage and investigate unusual variances or losses. Review purchases, invoices, receipts, and payment approvals. Examine payroll and staff-related financial records where required. Ensure compliance with hotel policies, procedures, and financial controls. Identify errors, fraud, leakages, and financial irregularities. Prepare audit reports and submit findings to management. Recommend corrective measures to strengthen internal controls. Conduct periodic physical stock counts and cash counts. Follow up on previous audit findings to ensure corrective actions are implemented. Maintain confidentiality of financial and operational information.
Qualifications Required
B.Sc./HND in Accounting, Finance, Auditing, or a related field. ICAN, ACCA, ANAN, or other professional certification is an advantage. 2–5 years' relevant auditing/accounting experience, preferably in the hospitality industry. Good knowledge of accounting principles and internal controls. Experience with hotel PMS, POS, and accounting software is an advantage. Strong knowledge of revenue and cost control. Excellent analytical and numerical skills. High level of integrity, honesty, confidentiality, and attention to detail. Ability to identify discrepancies and investigate financial irregularities. Good communication and report-writing skills. Ability to work independently and under pressure.
