Summary
As part of its expansion in the mining and mineral resources sector, the organisation is seeking to hire an experienced and results-driven Mining & Exploration Specialist.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead and support mineral exploration activities, including geological investigations and resource identification.
Evaluate potential mineral deposits and assess their commercial viability.
Develop and implement exploration plans, programmes and work schedules.
Conduct and coordinate field studies, sampling, mapping and other exploration activities.
Analyse geological and exploration data and prepare technical reports for management.
Support the evaluation and acquisition of prospective mining assets and mineral projects.
Coordinate with geological consultants, mining contractors, regulatory authorities and other stakeholders.
Monitor exploration and mining activities to ensure compliance with approved technical, environmental, safety and regulatory standards.
Support feasibility studies and the development of mining plans and project proposals.
Identify opportunities to improve exploration efficiency, mineral recovery and project value.
Monitor project budgets, timelines and deliverables.
Keep abreast of developments in the Nigerian mining industry, mineral markets and applicable regulations.
RequirementsBachelor's Degree in Geology, Mining Engineering, Mineral Resources, or a related discipline.
Relevant professional certification or membership of a recognised professional body is an advantage.
Proven experience in mineral exploration, mining operations or mineral resource development.
Good understanding of Nigeria's mining laws, regulatory requirements and environmental standards.
Strong analytical, research and problem-solving skills.
Excellent project management and stakeholder-management abilities.
Strong communication and report-writing skills.
Ability to work independently and undertake field assignments when required.
