Job Overview
The Last Mile Team Lead supervises a team of last-mile delivery operators at Jumia, ensuring timely, accurate execution of door delivery operations, strong customer experience, and consistent KPI performance.
What You Will Be Doing
Lead and supervise a team of Last Mile Delivery Operators/Associates to ensure timely and accurate execution of door delivery operations.
Assign daily delivery tasks and routes based on workload, priorities, and customer requirements.
Monitor driver-customer communication to ensure a positive delivery experience.
Coach and develop delivery associates to improve day-to-day delivery productivity.
Provide guidance, training, and support to team members.
Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members, encouraging continuous improvement.
Monitor team performance and KPIs, such as on-time delivery, customer satisfaction, closed success rate, and vehicle utilization, taking corrective action as needed.
Promote road safety and risk mitigation practices among delivery teams.
Coordinate with internal stakeholders, including Warehouse Operations, Network, and Customer Service, to resolve delivery exceptions and escalations.
Ensure compliance with transportation regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
Maintain accurate records of delivery activities, vehicle maintenance, and driver performance.
Foster a positive, collaborative work environment focused on continuous improvement.
What We Are Looking For
Experience in logistics operations, transportation, or last-mile delivery services, including experience in a leadership or supervisory role.
Strong leadership and management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in technology tools for route planning, tracking, and reporting (e.g., GPS, route optimization software).
Must have NYSC Certificate or possess a valid exemption letter.
Candidate must be based in Port Harcourt.
